In warm reflection by ~nubianlover:iconnubianlover:

Outside, noisy crickets,
washed in still waters of air,
play Adagio in tedium.

These are the hushed gifts
to a moon long departed
from the warm lips
of the copper band horizon.

Here’s to those,
who halt the night’s cold progression,
by handing out blankets,
for a smile and nothing more.

A reflection,
of quiet things,
in this room I am all that stirs
aside from red needles,
spinning endlessly.

My breathing lengthens,
to the confidence I hold,
in the arms of slumber.

Author's Comments

this one is about the time i spent on the streets (about 4 nights)

it was while i walked to my old home (the one i used to share with one of my ex-gf's), the one before i moved in with my mate, which was a long long long way away from my old home which meant lots of walking as i had no money to hand

so that means i've been kicked out of my current home by a mate who is now not so much a mate as he is a fucking idiot who i dispise,

anyway i'm all cosy now thanks to the :star: STAR :star: that is my ex :)

oh yer... errr... well i do need help to tidy this up, so any help you can lend would be fantastic ;)

"who stands tall
and speaks wide"

"Her body is like new brown bread
Under the Woolworth mignonette.
Her Body is a honey bowl
Whose waiting honey is deep and hot.
Her body is like summer earth,
Receptive,soft and absolute..."

Hm, I thought we'd lost you. Beautiful imagery as always. Nice appreciative take on a position often negatively viewed.

washed in still waters of air - i love this line :-)
You should see if you can send it to the Big Issue (Im sorry if sounds condesending or anything harmful, its not meant to sound like that)
I like this poem, ive just been reading about a character in one of my books (named Alizarin in case you were interested) who goes blind after being left on the street - he was once famous and the book was about the fact that people despised him when he became one of them......
I love your poem, its about people with glowing hearts that make all the difference... a smile can so much more than a speach - so why am i still yabbering on...................................... .... :-)
:iconmizzmarsh:
by the way i love the piccie ;-)

This is going to really denote what ive jsut said but what the hell - It only covers a very small part in the book about half a chapters worth, its a Jilly Cooper novel called Pandora which had nothing really very much to do with homelesness....... a bit of an anti climax i guess..... *winces*...

Ive actualy just been re-reading your poem, and ive been walking round my school in my free time and looking at the autumn colours that are everywhere at the moment and its really made me appreciate things a whole lot more (especialy as its bloody freezing in Lonodn at the moment).... where yu from?
:iconnubianlover:
i haven't told anyone where i'm from yet but perhaps i will disclose that in the future, i'm not so far away from you now though ;)

its great that you printed out my poem and used it the way you have, i really take pride in that and its good to receave that level of respect, thank you so much for sharing that with me

its more cold on the streets at night, i'm sooooooo glad i'm not still out there

i've got to warm myself up a bit - time to write sexy poetry and grab a girl from a club tonight, i shall see you tomorrow when the deed is done, and the poem is posted ;)

too much info i know but whats the harm - thanks again for the comment, glad i made you think
